Launched in July, 2012, JobGateway is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s initiative to transform the landscape of how job-seekers find family sustaining jobs and how employers find the skilled candidates that they need. Through this initiative, a user-friendly, premiere job-matching system is being created to help bridge the gap that currently exists between job-seekers and employers.
It is easy to search the talent pool in JobGateway. Employers can simply create a job-posting and connect with candidates for free. You will receive detailed information about job-seekers when you perform a search. You will also enjoy the benefit of sorting and filtering capabilities to help you manage your referral lists. The website also provides contact information for the nearest Pennsylvania CareerLink® site. CareerLink Business Service Representatives can also assist you in pre-screening candidates for the skills/qualifications matching of your job opening.
The Pennsylvania CareerLink® offers assessments to assist you in evaluate job candidates in the areas of aptitudes, skills, personality traits, job-skills and job-knowledge. For more information on the tests available, please contact the your local Pennsylvania CareerLink® site.

On the Job Training
Job candidates who lack a specific skill to perform the job, or with experience that falls just short of your requirement, may qualify for On-the-Job training (OJT) funds. The employer agrees to train the individual, for up to six months depending on skill-level, in the skills necessary to perform that position during which time a portion of the employee’s salary is paid.
