Steelcon, an offshoot of Hodge Construction, has been in business since 2002, and things are definitely going well for them according to husband-and-wife team Allen Hodge, President and Jessica Hodge, Controller. Located at 47161 State Route 558 in New Waterford, Ohio, they primarily service businesses in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New York, but have shipped equipment to countries as far away as Poland. In House, they offer Mechanical/Structural Engineering & Fabrication, Construction Service and Professional Engineering Services, as well as a product line that includes Industrial/Commercial Concrete Foundation/Slat, Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings and Vessels/Mechanical Piping: ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1/API 1104 Code work.
Allen Hodge says they are particularly proud of the ASME certification, as that has been a recent addition and will allow them to increase their participation with the oil & gas industry. They currently employ 40 employees full-time, both in the shop and in the field, and would hire qualified applicants with the right skills. Jessica Hodge says that they strive to be “tech-savvy”, and utilize the latest tools to increase productivity while also maintaining quality. One excellent example of this is their SubArc Welder which allows for deep weld penetration in heavy fabrication environments.
Allen says that Marcellus Shale and the accompanying oil & gas industry has helped their business grow considerably and they are currently upgrading their offices. They are active with organizations such as ASME, NFIB, the Better Business Bureau, and Jessica was recently elected Treasurer of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers’ Coalition. Jessica is the main contact person and she can be reached locally at 330.457.2419 or toll-free at 888.282.6000. She can also be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
